Starting school for the first time is a big moment—for both toddlers and their families. At Woodside West, our Little Twos Program, also known as the Scooters Class, is carefully crafted to help young children transition from home to school with confidence and curiosity.

With loving teachers, structured routines, and play-based activities, your child will begin to develop social, emotional, and motor skills while feeling safe, seen, and supported. We know that every toddler is different, so our flexible and patient approach helps each child adjust at their own pace.

Our Little Twos Program is open to children starting at age 2 and continuing through age 3. We offer a morning preschool schedule from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with options to attend two to five mornings per week depending on your family’s needs.

The focus during this stage is on building:

Learning potty skill.
Trust and separation confidence.
Basic social interactions (taking turns, group play, sharing).
Language and communication skills.
Gross and fine motor development.
Independence through classroom routines and transitions.

All of this is done through activities toddlers love: singing, dancing, art, storytelling, water play, and outdoor adventures.

We understand that not all toddlers are fully potty-trained, and we meet them where they are. While we do not provide diapers, we do support potty-training efforts and provide wipes as part of daily care.

Our staff offers gentle encouragement and consistent routines to help toddlers build confidence in the bathroom. We believe in working closely with families to create continuity between home and school, supporting each child’s developmental milestones with patience and positivity.

Best of all, we do not charge extra for children who are not yet potty-trained—we see this stage as a natural part of early development, not a burden.

In the Scooters Class, toddlers are encouraged to explore the world around them in a safe, engaging, and supervised setting. Whether it’s painting with their fingers, stacking blocks, or listening to storytime, every part of their day is filled with opportunities to learn through movement and imagination.

Creative arts and crafts using safe, sensory materials.
Songs and fingerplays that enhance memory and language.
Outdoor playtime in our secure play areas.
Circle time routines for building focus and group participation.
Practical life activities such as hand washing, snack time, and putting belongings away.
